Ephemeral Energy is an eclectic selection of oil paintings by Argentinian artist Cloe Galasso. Many of the works shown come from her Intimacy series created during the onset of the pandemic, in which Galasso’s spiritual identity came to the forefront of her work. It was during quarantine Galasso began to investigate her being in relation to the cosmic world around us. Through previous explorations of sculptural work, Galasso combines these studies with her figurative illustrations to create visuals displaying the unique entity of energy within one’s space. Through her delicate brushstrokes and application, she creates this radiance that illuminates from the canvas. Galasso’s paintings naturally emit an ethereal presence. The works in this exhibition range from intimate close-ups of the figure to the nude body transcending through time. In each painting Galasso creates a different space, pulling energy from the spiritual auras lingering among the human presence and the cosmic universe. Galasso depicts this universal energy through her organic shapes, as they work in and out of this exhibition. We see energy radiating through the raw form, shimmering from the sky, or shielding the naked vessel; her work is a testament to the metaphysical world that both surrounds and defines us. The presence of Galasso’s work transcends beyond an ephemeral realm, the essence of existence may be transitory, yet the cosmic energy is eternal.
