Beautiful Warriors is a colorful and meticulously crafted collection by artist Gabriela Gil. These paintings are featured from her Siamese series inspired by the beauty yet perseverance of Siamese fighting fish. This series emerged during her own redirection in life as she transitioned from working in Silicon Valley start-ups to forging a new career as an artist. Gil strives to do this through the use of colorful brushstrokes to convey the vivacious and flowing nature of Siamese fighting fish while the meticulous placement of metal tacks resembles scales, representing the armor and strength of a warrior. Gil used varied materials, color, and light to explore the concept of inner strength, perseverance, and grit which also mirrored her own brave redirection.

The Path of the Jaguar was apart of The Jaguar Parade, an initiative that began in Brazil with the goal of driving awareness and funds for the conservation of jaguars. Gil’s The Path of the Jaguar was exhibited at the Bank of America Tower and Times Square in New York City and was sold at auction. The net proceeds went to organizations protecting jaguars and their habitats. Gil created a vibrantly colored Jaguar standing tall with swerves of brushstrokes flowing from its fearless eyes and courageous heart, looking to the future with determination, hope, and resilience.
